I've never written a Journal entry before, however I've just had the first of my stories reach 100 views!

Home Is Where the Heart Is
Her home was unlike any other. It was hers, yet it was also everyone else’s.
Originally, her house had belonged to her mother, now sadly no longer of this world. With her passing, the house had transferred to her. However, it was also a base of sorts for all the weary travellers of the world; explorers and adventurers she had met along her travels, or who had simply heard of her through friends on the road.
When she stepped out of the house, to visit the market, or relax a while in the park, the first thing she would check upon her return was the shoe rack in the entry foyer. Often, it would be overloaded; boots, heels, sandals, clogs… At a glance, she could get an idea of who was now in the house; or at least, what type of people.
Hardened travellers, their boots heavy and thick, the toes scuffed, mud from over two dozen countries dried into the soles.
Wandering spirits, their slippers colourful and gaudy, laces and ribbons adorning the fringes and fluttering gaily at the

I know this is a tiny achievement compared to the staggering number of views that some people rack up, however I'm still pretty happy with it!

I started writing flash fiction a little over seven weeks ago, and in that time I've managed to pen 40 stories, each roughly 1000-1500 words. For those that haven't read every one of my pieces, and built up an idea of why I do what I do through my descriptions and comments, the purpose of this is predominantly developmental; I write to gain experience, to push myself outside of my comfort zone, to give myself a challenge, to experiment with new genres, and also to entertain myself.

In the beginning I managed to write every day; this has dipped slightly as I've just moved continent and my new home is still very much in flux and undergoing construction - not exactly a conducive writing environment!

However, as things begin to settle down I hope to get back into the rhythm of a story a day. I'm keen to do this because my experiences with this challenge have been largely positive! I've enjoyed the process, and I do feel like my writing is developing and improving with every piece! I've also had the pleasure of researching some truly weird and wonderful topics, across such a diverse range, purely so I can write these stories.

Throughout it all, I'm grateful to everyone who takes the time to read my stories (I know it takes so much longer than simply looking at an image!), and I'm hugely appreciative to all those who go the next step and mark it as a favourite, leave me a comment, and maybe add me to their watchlist.

I'm also immensely thankful to the DA community of artists, NONE of whom have so far asked me to remove their image from my work.

Thank you for all the support, and here's to the next 100 views!
